CBD and the Psyche: What Benefits You Can Take Advantage of and Why

Cannabidiol, also known as CBD, is an active substance, extracted from the Cannabis plant. Contrary to what you might think, it is not addictive. On the contrary, it offers numerous benefits to our bodies, both physically and mentally, making it essential in various therapeutic applications.

The reason why many people initially do not believe in the efficacy and reliability of CBD lies in the fact that they confuse it with its “evil twin,” THC, also found in Cannabis. It is actually the cause that generates a psychoactive effect, causing the classic “high” feeling.

Many people are unaware that there is already an endocannabinoid system in the human body, equipped with nerve branches that CBD, once in our bloodstream, uses to reach painful or damaged areas. The result at the brain level results not only in a feeling of relief, but also in limiting the production of cortisol. This is a hormone, responsible for the reaction with which the human body responds to stress, affecting social behavior, mood and appetite.

To the brain, CBD brings many other benefits. Because it targets a specific type 1 serotonin receptor, it allows it to soothe and calm various neurological problems, such as anxiety, depression, or even schizophrenia. In fact, by binding to TRPV1 receptors, it can regulate body temperature, healing inflammation and increasing the threshold of pain tolerance.

In the previous paragraph, we also mentioned the usefulness of CBD Oil as an antipsychotic. In support of our claim, a study was conducted, in which 88 patients, suffering from schizophrenia, were treated with cannabidiol for a period of time. Result: after just six weeks they had much milder psychotic symptoms, proving the effectiveness of this substance.

With proper and regular intake of CBD our mind will be able to cope better with various problems, psycho-physical in nature. There are so many benefits that cannabidiol can bring, first of all an improvement in sleep quality and a reduction in work stress, without having to take drugs or other chemicals that will be harmful to our bodies in the long run.

In recent times, insomnia has become a fairly common problem. But with CBD we have finally found a solution that has no consequence on our body. Again through interaction with the endocannabinoid system, it will be able to rebalance the sleep cycle upstream, just as it should biologically. By doing so, we will be able to in an easier and faster way, thus improving rest.
