An ad circulated on @Longhorn-Steak-Houses-Fans-116675758022058 pages featuring a message from the president of Longhorn Steakhouse, Todd Borrows Gorham. 

The message informed that Todd is happy to announce the new CEO of Longhorn Steakhouse, and he is happy to offer free meals for two people at any location of Longhorn Steakhouse. 

To avail of the offer, the ad/message must be forwarded within 72-hrs of receiving it. The ad/message needs to be forwarded to at least 30 people. The post was shared more than 50K times.

The reality of the ad:

The message is a scam as it was not posted on the official Longhorn Steakhouse Facebook pages. At the same time, Longhorn Steakhouse has a separate web page where users can sign up with their email and contact information to receive details of upcoming and ongoing offers at Longhorn Steakhouse (the link for the official offer page is given in the following section).

Why is the ad fake?

The message featured on the fan pages which is now know as Steakhouse Longhorn Scam ad. The owner of the fan page is anonymous. Additionally, there is no mechanism to track who had forwarded the ad, how many times that ad was forwarded, to whom the ad was sent, and how to record the credentials, user IDs, and names of the Facebook users who had forwarded the message.

With this, you may have understood that the ad is fake and worthless forwarding. No mode is mentioned on the Facebook fan pages by which the users will receive/claim some form of coupon or reward for having free meals.
