Hence, Facebook users file numerous cases against Facebook for sharing their data and their friends’ data without getting their concerns.
The cases were consolidated, and a class action case – In re: Facebook, Inc. Consumer Privacy User Profile Litigation, was filed bearing the case number 3:18-md-02843-VC (N.D. Cal.). United States District Court for the Northern District of California appointed Honorable Vince Chhabria to oversee the Facebook Settlement Claim Scam. Derek W. Loeser and Lesley E. Weaver were the lawyers appointed for the case.
Facebook responded to the court that it had not compromised on any form of user data (or) privacy. However, Facebook agreed to settle the case and offered $725 million in the settlement.
Approximately 230 to 250 million people are eligible to receive the settlement fund. The Facebook users who used the platform between 24th/May/2007 and 22nd/December/2022 can file a claim.
Of $725 million, 25% will go to legal fees and administrative allowances. The remaining $544 million settlement fund will be distributed among the applicants. Facebook Settlement Scam fund, each month of Facebook use by the applicant will be allotted one point.
The total points accumulated by all the applicants will divide the net settlement fund. Each applicant will be paid according to the settlement amount calculated and the total points accumulated by an individual Facebook user.
The settlement fund will be credited to the applicant’s account after the final hearing. However, the exact date of crediting the applicant’s account is not specified.
By filing a claim, the applicant agrees that they will not sue, continue to sue, (or) be a part of any other lawsuit related to Facebook Settlement Scam about the current settlement and allegations in the current settlement.
